John's career objective has been the acquisition of broad "in the trenches" management expertise, with the goal of bringing this unique blend of skills to bear on high-complexity investments. John works on a variety of development projects for The Terrill Company, and manages the firm's mixed-use project in Livermore.
Prior to joining The Terrill Company, John's management roles spanned finance, supply planning, information systems, product management (marketing), and strategic planning. Immediately prior to joining the firm, John owned Frye Associates, a small consultancy providing financial analysis for stakeholders in complex Northern California real estate deals. The firm consulted on deals totaling over $128 million, and expanded to purchase, develop, and operate properties for its own account.
Early in his career John served as an active duty Army Officer, leading Airborne/Air Assault troops with the 101st Airborne Division. He earned undergraduate degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA from the University of California-Berkeley. His areas of continuing study are land use, development, and various topics in real estate finance.
